08. April Sweihan - Al Khatim report

Almost all met on time at the Adnoc station in Sweihan and we headed towards the deflation point. After deflation and briefing we hit the sand around 2pm. We started in the higher dunes, found some spots to play, varied the pace and reached one of the nice big bowls. We stayed there for quite a while and everybody took the chance to circle the bowl trying to reach the maximum line before we continued towards Al Khazna.
We lost some time due to a "demonstration" stuck in side slope - thanks to Waqar for whinching me out. From Al Khazna towards Al Khatim we had to cross some nasty little dunes full of bushes, that did not allow the pace that was needed to reach the bby spot before sunset. So we decided to take the catch road and reached the bbq spot in time where we met Cybershot's, Frank's and Sean's group. The bbq and chit chat in the big group was the perfect end to a nice day out.
Thanks to Waqar for second lead and many good advises, thanks to Thabit for sweeping (loved that sound of the GMC in the bowl), thanks to Amit, Tariq and Mo for joining me on that trip. All did very well and I hope to see you soon again.
