We waved the early bird goodby

Post by Jo »

.. and had a lot of hot fun in Sweihan.

All on-time at the petrol station. We entered the sand at 10:00h with 4 sand-virgins and came out at 13:30h with 4 new sand-addicted.
Guys, you all made a good job. We where even able to heal an ill Tschiep (Malte, hope you will have your 4WD back soon). Thanks to Dr. Jalal Scorpio it was stabilized and ready to move in no time. Thanks for that.

Again, all newcomers did extremely well and a big THANK YOU to the supporting team (Sam, Wolle, Lia, Moe with Jalal).

Keep it up guys and see you all out agin...

Jo

We waved the early bird goodby

Post by desert_hawk »

It was a nice trip despite the difficulty of waking up and dragging myself out.

Jo, as always, had his professional and friendly introduction to the new comers. And as the convoy moved, their confidence build up improved, over all, everyone did good, even when Scorpio drove my FJ (surprisingly).

Ahhh, and as one of the trip events, many jeepers enjoyed the AC made in Toyota ;)

Thanks to Jo and Tweety for organising another successful trip, thanks Dr Scorpio for the healing hands, you saved the day; and for the play time we enjoyed while you were getting cooked ;)

Nice seeing you Sam (after a long time), Wolle and all the new comers, hope to see you all again.

Guys, drivers and their guests, would appreciate it if you can share the photos of the trip by any means, email, CD or any other suitable means. Thanks.

A last minute decision for me to join as I was missing the sand too much, and I am so glad I was up early to join in this trip as it was such great fun.

A nice gentle start to ease the newbies in before finding some crests where we had our first stuck - well done Mogz

The rest of the day continued in the same vein...a bit of driving....a little stuck...a bit more driving and then woah, mechanical issues and in stepped Dr Jalal and his amazing Healing Hands! Malte then impressed us by driving out of the desert in only 2WD. Way to go Malte!!

Lovely to see the new and very eager faces despite the temperature hitting 49/50! And really lovely to see some old, familiar faces again ...yes Desert_Hawke, yours is old...!

See you all soon.

It was a lot of fun with you guys, thanks for that.

To be honest i did not thought, that i'll make it up the bigger dune at the very beginning of the 2wd ...
But it worked somehow... Now indeed i'm a bit more sand-addicted, then i was before :) ... when will be the next trip :D ?

btw. tomorrow i'll get some pics - i can upload them here (i saw there's already a gallery?)
Some pics are already on fb : http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set= ... 1727350140
But it's about 1/4 of the pics... so ...

btw.. my tschiepp is already being repaired...

On the contrary, the FJ was sooo patient by taking him as passenger and part time driver.

Kamel - I have your cargo net. Sorry about that. Do you want to meet up or can I drop it round to you? I live in Bain Al Jasrain, and work near the airport. Apologies again.
