Life is a big school trip report

Post by khaiwi »

Three Marshals and four members joined the trip and met on time at Sweihan petrol station alongwith other group going on other trip. We all started together from the same deflation point taking different routes targeting Al Khatim to meet up again around sunset.

After deflation and distribution of members with Marshals, we started and each marshal was driving and explaining to the passenger(s) the tips and tricks handling the trail, selecting the route and reading the sand dunes etc.

Almost 45 minutes and we are back to the deflation point where the marshals left their cars changing positions and the passengers now are driving their own cars while the marshals are passengers. Using exactly the same route all four cars drove to practice what was explained during the first round. A couple of stuck which also benefits by learning recovery techniques do's and don'ts.

Back to the deflation point, everyone is back to his car and all decided to stay heading to Al Khatim. About 5pm, two hours to sunset, short time and limitation of beginners trip, rout needs to be as easy as possible and driving as fast as possible to reach the camping spot before sunset,,,, sounds interseting haaaa

Well, all did real well, driving silently and at the right pace trying to catch up and reach on time, a couple of minor stucks here and there, a route mixed between some nice dunes and easy tracks, we were able to reach by 7pm however, the other group was involved in heavy playing on the sand dunes and forgot about timing of the trip hehehehehe . The temperature was still high even at sunset, so we decided to call it a day and head back home.

I would like to thank Triplod and Mutasim for their awesome support and help, and T-J, Arabia, Sagger560 and Abu Malhas for taking advantage of such kind of a trip and hope they have learned enough and enjoyed their time with us.

I will be loading the pictures on my FB page very soon.

Ciao,

You really missed a nice trip.

Marshalls have taken their time to give us very usefull hints, but the best part is the way they let you feel "in the AD4x4 Family", I have had the pleasure to go out several times with different Marshalls "ALL" of them are just Great, they take you on board with patience and bring you around these fantastic places "Always" taking care of the maximum safety ........

Thanks
Khaiwi for your "Private lesson", really usefull .......
Gladiator (long time no see, nice to have seen you again, taking your advices and upgrading my JK ;) ) and
Triplod (ciao Paul, nice day yesterday bit different from the last trip  we met, isn't it ...... your Toyota is fantastic).

Thank you very much KhAiwi for organizing this trip, was very useful indeed. I have learnt a very valuable lesson from you about how much power i "Actually" need while driving in the sand, in addition to a list of tips here and there.
Jumping in the car with Gladiator was exciting, showed me the difference between cars in the sense of zise, dimensions and weight.. and of course bits and bobs here and there.
Tripold, great to meet you, lovely ride you got indeed.

Thank you all again, Best Regards
TJ

Thanks Khaiwi

This was really a change to the normal trips we do. First the instruction part of the trip, I learnt a lot being a passenger with a newbie leading his first trip (Abu Malhas you did very well). Secondly was the drive through an area I havent yet visited, this is always fun even through farms and camel racetrack, Arabia who was following me did a great job behind me with no stucks the whole trip.

Great to meet TJ, Sagger560, Abu Malhas and Arabia once again.

Gladiator I am chasing up my wife for your photo's

Regards Triplod

Great trip.
Enjoyed sitting with Gladiator in the car and got a lot of useful hints from him.
After the briefing the trip was a faster pace than a normal newibie trip and not too many stucks.
Thank you Khawi for the trip, Gladiator for the hints and tricks and tripLod for being part of this trip.
Really enjoyed and learnt from it.
