Report: Are Intermediate trips boring?

Post by khaiwi »

What a blast, a trip where you see so many gazelles and experience so many stucks driving on powder sand in a very technical area. I reached home 3:30pm dead tired.

I think Intermediates should do this area several times before they become Advance and head to Liwa.

After the briefing we hit the soft sand to have two stucks after almost 200 meters from the start.....  lots of gazelles and plenty of stucks, well nothing unexpected in this area, the weather is still warm and the sand is sooooo soft you get stuck even on flat areas. I don't remember I have used the winch on a single trip as much as this time hehehehehe

All three lady drivers did really very well, and Thabit proves again that its all about the driver more than the vehicle, he made it with his GMC in such area getting minimal number of stucks possible.

Thanks to:
Sam for the second lead
Jayne for being there so early coming all the way from Dubai, you are doing really good. (Sean you look way better in a Jeep i.e. time to keep the H3 for road and enjoy offroading in a Jeep)
SSS for helping the members and keeping things in order.
Agne you drive great considering you were recently Intermediate, very cool.
Guevara The xterra is powerful and you are surely getting used to it, thanks for the recoveries.
Watheq for the help (Popout) and keeping things in order.
Thabit you are the man of big vehicles .......
Zeer great driving man, I hope you fix the carburator problem soon and sorry for the door issue.
Gladiator for sweeping and all the recoveries throughout the day, only gladiators can do it.

I hope you have enjoyed the trip and learned something during the day. Pictures will be uploaded early today.

Others who have taken pictures during the trip please share.

Look forward to seeing you all soon.

Wow what a long day! The area that we drove was wonderful and definitely somewhere to be re-explored again and again. The gazelles and the lizard that we saw were an added bonus.

I had a great day with everyone and it was nice to see you all.

After the stucks, pop outs, recoveries, slight door issue, problems with inflators and the suchlike, I was shattered!!

Thanks for the lead Khaiwi and thanks to everyone else for being you!

See you in the sand soon.

Thank You participants for doing well and some of you for being "victim" as well.

Dear khaiwi,
i think ur the only one believe on that  , as i remember, last trip to that or near area was the GPS fun, almost one year ago!!
during this time, this is ur second trip there, and one or two Advance trip "intermediate can't join".
Swihan has similar spots but this area really different, powder sand all the time every where.
so it would be nice to arrange regular trips for intermediates there, or invite one or two intermediates in advance trip to that area.
again thanks for the nice trip.

Thank you Zeer for your suggestion, it is very much valid. And I think other marshals should consider this area for Intermediates ready for advanced.

Alkhatim is nowhere similar to this area from several aspects. Anyhow Season is around the corner and hope by then you and your car are ready to join true desert trips (Advanced in LIWA)
