Fun & Surf to The Party (14/10/11) Trip Report

Everyone met @ Sweihan ADNOC on time, actually many were early, and with other groups from the club, the ADNOC station was really full.

After making sure all are present, which wasn't that easy task, we headed out to the deflation point exactly on time.

20 cars reached the deflation point, deflated, and were ready to hit the sand. We divided the group into 2, one lead by Urs and the other by myself. So, hopefully Urs will share his part of the resport.

We hit the sand after the briefing with an easy track, and some challenging spots, but all members with their fully loaded cars did an excellent job. only 2 stucks the whole track and sure they were demonstrative . We reached the high dunes were Marshals and Explorers enjoyed some playing time, and showed their skills to other members.

After reaching half the way, Scorpio took the lead, again nice track to the BBQ spot, passing by some easy, tricky and challenging spots, but it was good for the level.

We reached the BBQ point just before 17:00 to share the fun with other groups.

Thanks for the great trip! one of the best I've been on especially since i had no stucks myself the route was wonderful, and so was the trip management....desert hawk and scorpio were great, and it was good to be back in the sand again.....my passengers enjoyed the trip, and wanted a repeat soon....

was happy with my new tires and lift, and I think i finally figured out how to handle the manual transmission in the sand....!!!!

Nice to meet/ see everyone else, and looking forward to the next trip !!!

Many thanks for a great trip! I am pleased to say that it was enjoyable and that my home minister didn't get any motion sickness and actually had fun too! perhaps she would join on future trips too... who knows, one day she might decide she wants to take the car to an anit and leave me behind!!!!

A new experience - not posting a trip but taking over the waiting list. Thanks to desert_hawk for organising the trip.

After sebyseb fixed the radiator hose on his Patrol we started "our" trip with a "warm up" run. After crossing the powerline the terrain changed to "more fun". This fun was too much for the patrol and he decided to run hot and we escorted sebyseb towards the exit. Mate I hope to see you back in the sand soon.
On the way back to the waiting group I produced a "heavy stuck" in a nasty ditch. Thanks to Mike and Frank for the recovery.

A stuck here & there and some second attempts but everybody did well.

On our way towards the camp we could enjoy some falconing and stopped for a while watching the beautiful birds.

Another nice day out with the great AD4x4 family ending with the opening party.

An excellent day, loved it, thank you all. Sorry we had to stop earlier than expected because of my jeep. Am taking it to the shop tomorrow, will see what the verdict is, hopefully I can have it back before next week-end.

Thanx desert hawk and jalal for the trip I really had fun. Well, maybe that was my first trip with newbie since 2007

I just wanted an easy ride for my new truck to test it and I think the result is good. The high dune part was really good...it reminded me of the old days

All the drivers in the trip did really well. Thanx for the other marshals as well.

Thanks to you all for a great trip, the two guest cars had a great time as well, the leads were excellent with a good mix of easy and slightly harder, great marsheling guys and a pleasure to be on a trip with you all, 9ball i hope the jeep gets better soon.

Guys, many thanks for the trip although the almighty Patrol heat would not let us complete it.
Thanks Urs for taking care of the waiting list and the escort back to -near- civilisation, it was indeed our best offroading part of the day! Always a pleasure to get in the sandpit with you.
After some more thorough roadside repairs with advanced tools including pastic bits, coins, car keys and cans, we made it safely back to town just in time for a quick sundowner dip in gulf.
Sweihan was nevertheless a great new discovery, I'll fix the beast and we'll be back with you guys soon!

I actually showed up... despite the fact that my AC compressor broke 20 mins after leaving RAK, but i said to myself: "not this time, hell no, nothing is stopping me this time"
