Report: Float Over The Dunes!! 18/05/12

As some of us were early and the temp was HIGH ADNOC decided to support us with an air conditioned room to have a nap and refresh before the trip, THANKS FOR THAT
As people started to come, we gathered under the A/C and had our briefing there.

Then we headed to the deflation point and off you GO, we hit the difficult and soft terrain from the beginning, not wasting time, stuck here and there but everyone did well.

Then a break under the shade where we had a water and diet coke fight, and a wet T-shirt party

We moved on till we hit the big dunes, where we had a nice and controlled play, then headed to the BBQ point and met with Jo's and MooD's groups, nice catching up with you guys.

Special thanks to Vader for a nice 2nd lead, Scotchyl for a clean sweep.
Tillybean for a great support and FREEZING WATER, btw, it was water not coke
Scorpio for great lead and support, and thanks for the stolen trip

Once again thank you all for the great company, that's what really counts.

Cheers guys for a great trip. i think the heat was too much for some and may explain the extended water fight.

special mention to the parking and thanks sam for the sabkha drive.

As DH said, the ADNOC were kind enough to give us their AC chilled room whilst we rested from the morning drive. Was lovely to grab some chilled air and a sleep for an hour before we headed back into the sands of Sweihan for the afternoon.

And what a great afternoon. It was nice to see a couple of new faces and to catch up with the old ones The dunes were great and the drivers were impressive in their abilities to drive confidently, safely and well whilst meeting the challenges for the trip. Loved the play area that we found and watching everyone give the dunes a go.

And then a perfect end to meet up with Jo and his group with MooD dropping in on his way out for a night drive with his group. A great atmosphere at the BBQ spot with lots of laughs and more water. I finally managed to dry out on the way home!!

Thanks again to everyone for another great AD4x4 family day in the desert, with lots of laughs, words of encouragement, stories, great driving, great leading .....simply put, just GREAT. Thanks for all the birthday wishes and singing

Thanks to DH and Scorpio for creating a great route and being, as usual, fab leaders. Thanks to the rest of the group for being you...you are all awesome.

what A..Title for this trip .. i like it very much..
i do have a Float Over operation at the end of this month or early June.. 10,000 ton of steel, offshore .. i will let u know, when we meet on Tuesday.. on the shishah time..

Thank you all for a great Friday after the morning drive, the nap at ADNOC was exactly what I needed to recharge my batteries for the afternoon drive which was very scenic and really beautiful.

As always, can't wait till next week's therapy session. Special thanks to Dr. Desert Hawk for being my therapist for the weekend
