Dubai am newbie trip report

A great day in the sand, thanks everyone! A big thanks to the few people who turned up on time.... l led the earlybirds to deflation point whilst Sean collected some lost members, and some lucky late comers who were lucky to get a drive today, managed to follow on with Sean's group. Mr Blackberry thanks so much for your call last night, I hope your wife is over her illness, Abu Faisal thanks for passing on the message, I hope you are feeling better and Elvorfin - hope you had a good sleep in.

So with 18 cars we deflated and had breifing. Cherif took the intermediates in one trip and I led the newbies in another.

Our 10 car convoy of newbies headed out in to some nice soft sand! The early part was some technical smaller dunes and the latter half we got in to some nice medium sized dunes, with a nice short lead from Sean. Everyone did really well today, particulary well done to the guys at the back of the convoy - you had some very soft sludge to get through by the time you got there and did really well. It was very windy and the cookie breaks were definately sand coated!

Shadi fantastic job at sweeping thank you, you had a lot of recoveries today! Your decisions in how to recover were well chosen, although i was a little bit tired after pushing one car out!! Thank you for coming to support us instead of going with the intermediates..
Sean thanks for your great support, we were busy!

2km from exit we met up with the intermediate group for a break and I then led the 18 cars out the last 2kms for the final ice cream stop! Apologies we could not stay longer for ice cream, myself, sean and Dr Soto headed back out to collect some things from Cherif's car, a nice drive thanks Sean!!

Lots of teamwork today with leads from myself, Sean, Cherif and Cool Creation. Cherif - hope your car gets fixed very soon around tomorrow if you need help...

Great to see the whole group out and thanks to Sarah for the most amazing cup cakes, that icing is seriously the best thing ever..

Voy good driving , hope kikitour back in the driving seat soon too....

So we all saw today that snatch straps are not created equal...russland please confirm the make of yours, i think maybe bush ranger (what ever it did not perform to expectation) but just to be sure please confirm as will be usefy\ul to others who saw the difference....as seen a good strap is good for recovery, good for the time to do it and better for the cars..

Some shackels need to be thrown away as not-rated....you know who you are
1 snatch also needs to go to rubbish too....you know how you are too

1 no-show meant soneone else missed out as trip was full and closed...

Good news rescue of Cherif's car done Cherif, mechanic, Dr Soto, Hangtin and I headed back to Al Faqa today, a faulty sensor - car now safely back on the road A fun afternoon in the sand thanks guys.
