Wadi Trip report 21 Sep 2012

Post by khaiwi »

We all met on time and even earlier both Abu Dhabi and Dubai members and luckily we had no last minute cancellations.

Wtih the help of MarwanJeeper we entered Shawka Dam and then entered wadi trail, we had some fun trying some flexing on our Jeeps while others were watching hehehehe.

We had an early lunch break and had to return using the same way in due to difficuly in the same trail.

Ended the trip officially early due to heat (Still inconvenient) and long distance to drive back to Abu Dhabi.

I personaly liked the area will surely make another trip restricted to modified/lifted vehicles when the weather gets cooler.

Thanks to all who joined and special thanks to MarwanJeeper. Hope you all had some good time.

Till next trip.......

If you haven't been to LIWA, you haven't seen the desert yet......Dare you follow me? !!!!

And if you haven't seen Jeeping in Moab, you don't know what you're missing.

The most fun i have had in my jeep to date..honestly, i wish i could do this every week instead of sand driving...........

Thank you chief for the wonderful trip..although i thought you were kidding when you said we are going home early :( .... :Gladiator, thanks a lot buddy it was fun and great company.....great seeing all members and thanks for sharing the stuffed vine-leaves Abed....

Now for the important part :D :D :D

yesterday, i was so happy to have a wrangler, and a JK particularly....this kind of terrain is where the JK is meant to be, and i enjoyed my time thoroughly .....4-low, first gear, and the car crawls without even touching the gas as it is supposed to .....suspension articulation, crazy obstacles, water up to the doors....came back home from off roading clean for the first time....

and for all you jeep bashers out there.....enjoy your xterras , Fjs, and prados......You have no chance in the rocks  good luck doing this....

Yes Latief,

Thats exactly what I like and believe me we are no where close to true rock crawling yet. This is simply just a taste of it hehehehehe.

I will not talk about other vehicles but driving skills required to do rocks is an absolute different ball game all together. Each and every inch of lift, articulation and correct vehicle setup make a whole lot of difference. Its not simply throwing a lift kit blindly, you need to do the math and balance the suspension travel both ways etc etc.

I assume we will be doing many trips in that area this season once the weather gets better.

flexing on our Jeeps while others were watching hehehehe.

Chief,

Thanks a lot for the lovely area and nice drive with some flex. I had a good fun time out there. I do agree that such trips should be limited to modified vehicles, or atlest a bit lifted would be good :)

Some of us have continued in Fossil Rock.. a nice smooth drive in sands.. untill, Hummer had a small incident.. it found out its not a bulldozer, and cant move dunes :D .. Hangtin i hope your monster gets fixed soon.

Thanks everyone for lovely day!

Thanks Marwan for mountain area to explore, thanks for watching the back of convoy in the dunes. And sorry not to let you know that im not coming to meet you in DXB ... feel no good that you had waited for me

See you all soon!

Post by Abed »

Thank you khiwi for giving the opportunity to hit my fav terrain, rocks, wadi, mountain, water and lots trees is where I love to spend my weekend.
The experience of driving on the sand after rocks was something I will never forget.
Lets do this again maybe a camping trip next time.

Will bring a better watermelon next time ...
and consult a syrian friend of mine for the best watermelons in town ;)

besides that : nice area - great company as usual.
Enjoyed being a passenger in the moving 3-bedroom of Hangtin ... which apparently wasn't as bad on the rocks as one might think ... :D
at least the X-terra tried to follow and had to give up
