Drive around in Sweihan - 5th Oct 2012 - Report

Excellent Drivers and a great group of people.

We literally drove around sweihan, crisscrossed some of our own tracks and saw the morning groups tracks.

Needed some bearing adjustment in the beginning

but thanks to DH for sorting out.

Initially we drove a bit tentatively and then up-ed the pace. Everyone did well.

before heading to the bbq spot, we dropped IDO, stefano and Abdelkader off.

A little excursion with the remaining group back to the bbq spot where Khaiwi, sam and DH were already settled in.

Had good fun, take care and have a good work week.

Another fab Friday in the desert. Great company, great drive, great track, great bbq - what more can one ask for? I really can't think of a better way to spend a Friday afternoon.....

It was nice that my son also came along after a long time and that everyone showed interest and offered advice to him on his upcoming university admissions. Sam even offered him to stay with her mom in the Scottish Highlands! Great stuff! Next time, I'll try to get Mrs. MLC on a trip too, if she can overcome her motion sickness.

Part 2 of my Desert Day was with The Waqmaster and it was great fun. Had a lovely afternoon in Sweihan following everyone. The dunes were just lovely and the track was nice with some lovely areas.

Thanks so much Waqar for a nice afternoon and thanks to you and your mum for the BBQ. Amazing.

Nice to see so many people on this trip.

Was glad to have my power nap before the BBQ and apologies for my snoring! Ooops. But I was asleep and it didn't bother me!! That's what happens when you do two trips in one day.

So glad to have spent the day with my AD4x4 family.

to be fair, you didn't snore Sam, but you were really far away! Waq even dangled those delectable spuds in front of you (the divine aroma would probably have woken the dead!!!), but you were comatose! however, missing out on the veggie portion and waking up for the meaty portion of a bbq can't be a totally bad thing now can it?

btw, i also wanted to mention how much fun the 'chaai' break on the way back was at the 'dodgy' truck restaurant! loved the tea! this should be a regular feature of drives back from Sweihan henceforth...
