Driving in Al Khatim - 12th Oct 2012 (Waqar)

Everyone met up at the Al Khatim petrol station after Friday Prayers, where we met up with the morning ANIT group - it was nice meeting everyone (DH, XOF, Grizzly,jalal, V), we also came across some UAE offroaders and four of them decided to follow us to the deflation point. They were more than welcome, but they finally realized they were not in the right place and we wish them a safe trip and they left.

We drove around in Al Khatim tackling different obstacles...newbie style ossme was my second lead with sam sweeping at the back. We found a nice area to practice some control of speed and steering, whilst we waited to replace a leaky tire. Waleed showed up from his Dubai ANIT trip and it was great having him around.

We had a couple of stucks and a pop out, which were dealt with quick and easy. After the drive we sat around to reflect on the drive and current events.

I was really proud of all the drivers on the trip who all drove safely and hope that people have learnt something new.

ossme, great second lead, the lexus rocked! and paved the way.
kiki, excellent driving...hope your mother in law enjoyed.

What a great afternoon.

I had such a fun time with everyone - the route was spot on, the levels and confidence of driving were great and the atmosphere of the group was amazing. Truely a great day out with my AD4x4 family.

Thank you to everyone who was there and especially to Waqar for the track which had some spicy areas, some nice dunes and some great areas to drive; to Waleed for joining from Dubai; and to everyone else.

I was very impressed by the control that everyone showed in their driving, for following the track, and for getting involved when we had the pop out and in the group photos!

It was really a lovely trip with a lot of chances to learn more about dunes, our cars & ourselves

I have to thank our leading Marshal (Waqar) for this trip & for his smartness of choosing a track were we've reached a new levels of experience.

I cannot forget Sam who is giving a special taste to any trip she is always making it more towards fun & my son Saif liked her a lot & he asked me "when we will go with Sam again?" ( I hope this is not because of the icecream )
