Exploring Upper Bu tais stage #6 23/1/21

Everyone arrived around 8:30,  after deflation we welcomed an AD4x4 colleague, Mustafa, from Dubai who was able to join us. We held our briefing and arranged convoy order, John as second lead, followed by Florian, Nick, Mustafa with Ali as official sweep and Thomas at the back.
Entering the sands of upper Bu tais, we warmed up in some technical dunes and once everyone felt ready we moved to the higher dunes to rollercoast and switchback our way to the end of the dune range. Once we crossed down to the lower Bu tais range we stopped for a break around 1 pm, before heading back. Shortly after we got under way, an electrical issue crippled one of the car's continued progress. So performing a temporary fix we left the dunes and made or way back to the inflation point arriving at around 3:30.

Despite  having to abandon the trip, we still managed to cover over 90km of desert driving.  Everyone  drove very well and safely. A popout, a few stucks and plenty of second tries showed the continued opportunities to learn.

A great drive which must be rerun to reach completion.
