Report: Intermediate AM Friday 19th Feb Bu Tais

[Flaghunter]

Everybody met on time, with 2 intermediate first timers. We did the usual briefing and set up the following convoy order:

- Flaghunter (lead)
- Webscare (second lead)
- BV1973
- RedFury
- snaware
- Koona
- Christohe (sweeper)

We started with easy intermediate, hitting the dunes east of the Bu Tais gatch, just before the first farm. We recovered a few stucks in the soft sand and adjusted tyre pressures. We made steady progress eastwards, north of the sabkha, spicing up the drive and safely challenging ourselves a bit.

Then we crossed the sabkha south and played a bit in bigger dunes and bowls before taking a long break in one of the bowls. At the end of the break, Flaghunter realised that the sidewall of his rear tyre is punctured from bushes and we needed to replace the wheel. This was very efficient thanks to RedFury's mobile workshop.

We then headed west through the dunes for about 2 more kilometers before hitting the sabkha again and back to deflation, where we arrived at about 1pm.
