Sat morning Advance From Khazna to Sweihan/ 27.03.21
Posted: Sat Mar 27, 2021 9:54 pm
Support:
Marshals Chris (Cannonball), Michael (EmDoc) and Kevin (Petro)
Expert Kamran (Kamran143)
Advance Drivers:
Jean (CANTALOUBE), Syed (afsal001) and Christophe (Christohe)
We met in time at the deflation point where we also had our safety briefing.
From there we went into the dunes towards East. We started easy but soon increased the pace and shaved some smaller crests as they came in our way. We had some breaks to relax and to discuss feedback.
Once we came into the areas with the bowls the challenges increased. We played a little in some of the bowls. In this area we also faced some challenges with soft sand and we needed to sidecrest some higher dunes on the way - sometimes with little run-up.
Also the heat intensified in the late morning and we made our way to the exit point which we reached in time.
We had quite a few second tries but only one stuck (Marshal). The advance drivers, some of them new at this level, did very well and demonstrated good judgement and safety awareness.
I could concentrate on finding the track because I knew I could trust the drivers and the support team behind me. All for one and one for all.
Special thanks to the supporting Marshals, in particular Chris and Kamran as my official sweeper. Jean was a very reliable second lead.
I hope you liked it and will join me again in future trips…
Thanks
Mytommi
