Report: Intermediate AM Friday 9th Apr Razeen

All 17 drivers impressively showed up right on time. Thank you Mark for volunteering to lead which allowed us to split into 2 convoys: advanced + more experienced intermediates led by Mark, and less experienced intermediates let by myself (Flaghunter). Mark will post a separate report for his convoy.

After we held our briefing, we headed south-east on the gatch from Razeen road towards Um Al Ouch in the following convoy order:

Michal (Flaghunter) - Lead
Shaju (Ayfas) - Second Lead
Reji
Ahmad (AAA)
Mohamed (RedFury)
Maher (Mhamidi001)
Artur(Noob2020)
Paul (Windy) - Sweeper

After about 8km on the gatch we headed east into the dunes and warmed up before heading towards bigger ones. We had good fun practicing side sloping and proper vehicle control with just a few stucks, slowly making progress towards Um Al Ouch.

About 90 minutes into the drive, the trip turned into a series of advanced recovery exercises and pretty much lasted that way for the remaining 4 hours of the trip. We experienced pop-outs, broken recovery points, as well as an actual failed engine and some towing out of the desert towards the end. This trip will definitely go down as a memorable one and as a reminder that the safety rules taught by AD4x4 are there for a reason.

Thank you Mr Michal for arranging a wonderful trip. As you said, safety is first and we could witness what all our marshals stress on their briefings. Though there was many stuck we had covered good distance. Overall it was a very good trip if you keep away those small incidents which can happen at any trip anytime. Than you all drivers for a wonderful trip and a display of what a team work to be.

Thanks Michael. Although it wasn't the most free flowing of trips, we got to learn lots about the different ways to do successful advanced recoveries.
Like you say, following the club safety rules and working together as a team got us through this trip safe and sound.
