Drivers started to show up around 2:35pm on the extremely hot sands of Sweihan. Split the convoy and gave 2 separate briefings. Started around 3:15pm.

Played around on the wide dunes of gate 12 for a while to watch the levels of the drivers before continuing. All drivers showed a very good level of skill and control. We then crossed the gatch and played in the bigger dunes of Sweihan where we pushed our cars to see what they can do.

Derek, you done well as 2nd lead, longest rig in our convoy following the shortest rig. Not an easy job. Thank you Daiana and Fadi for sweeping and giving your input to the drivers where needed. Appreciate you guys coming all the way from Dubai for my drive. Talha, Reji, Shajumon, Anvar, and Ilker. You guys drove very well and listened to the comments given by the support team. A great convoy.

Since all the drivers were driving really well, we pushed up the level and took it to a higher pace through technical and big dunes. We got to play abit at old lady dune and watch Fadi and Daiana fly on top of the crests. Ended the trip at Al Yahar besides Al Ain airport as planned around 6:30pm

It was nice meeting all of you guys.

I headed to Sweihan on the intention of leading my 1st ever Sweihan drive as advance. However, due to last minute changes, I was requested by Hadi to split the convoy with him, which was a pleasure.

We started off from Gate 12 into the near medium size dunes surrounding l it. Then, and as the drivers got comfortable with the track and the pace, we commenced to a bigger bowls area where we practiced long side slopes, and finally a decent slip face, where the team superbly handled it with the supervision of my good friend Raul.

Shortly after, we crossed a gatch road towards the old lady area, which was bushy and ditchy. We had few stucks and popouts to fix along the way, which kept us from reaching our target; old lady dune. Thus, the team got to experience their first night drive ever as we drove to the old lady exit, which honestly was rewarding to me seeing them thrilled.
Yesterday was definitely a rich experience to me.

It was a pleasure driving under Hadi’s lead with super support from Daiana and Fadi with the presence of Chief. Really enjoyed the trip and eagerly waiting for next trip. Daiana’s support and guidance was exceptional. Thank you all.

All the drivers progressed a lot from the beginning of the drive up to it's end. It was very obvious that all were confident and fearless. I gave my comments to every driver face to face at the end of the trip, will not duplicate myself here
Overall, I personally enjoyed the trip in all aspects - lead, convoy skills, no unexpected issues, desert views... I can keep going on and on when everything was perfect.
See you all back in the desert soon!

P.S. I have attended the drive with backup car as my Jeep had issues. Thank you Fadi for your supercharged super FJ. Enjoyed it a lot as well. Maybe I should reconsider my preferences. All cars amazing, not only my Jeep ))))))))
