Morning Intermediates in Bu tais, Convoy 1

Post by EmDoc »

The Team:

Michael, Tommy & Osama (rotating lead & support)
Reji, Anvar, Suhas, Maher (rotating 2nd lead & sweep)

The band of drivers set of on coolish summer's morning with Tommy, Osama and I taking it in turns to lead and support the group.
I started the journey to warm drivers up to the day's events by practising vehicle control and sloping technique. Tommy then took over and led us through some medium sized dunes to sharpen the driver's technical skills, the drive was then handed over to Osama who moved us to the larger wider dunes to practice higher and faster paced side sloping.

At various points the drivers rotated the convoy order to give all a chance to practice 2nd leading and sweeping. It was a good day out, with new skills and confidence developing throughout the morning.

A number of stucks and 2nd/3rd tries punctuated the trip to allow recovery practice and learning opportunities.

Well done to all and see you again soon.

It was a different experience, one trip with three different leads, all participants could get a chance to be the second lead and sweeper. This trip was really challenging.

Thanks Marshal Michile for arranging this trip. Thomas and Osma - thanks for your great support .
