First Timers Trips (ANIT) and Newbie at Sweihan PM 7 May 2022 – Trip Report

We all met at Sweihan wedding hall meeting point at 1530. A total of 20 vehicles registered for trip. There were few last minute cancellations and few no shows. We split into two groups ANIT( Newly registered members / less than 4 trips) and Newbie (4 plus trips).
I will cover ANIT trip report. Newbie Trip was led by Marshal Tompa Borja and he will cover his report separately.

The ANIT Convoy comprised following:
Irfan ( Marshal Lead)
Adiga, Pshasha and Khalid Alhosani ( Marshal Support)
Riyazismail, vipinmpd08, Arlan, Tommyboy ( Newbies)
Mnambiar007, CarloB, Agesman, muhdminhaj (ANITs)

We moved to deflation point at 1610 after ANIT briefing and started trip thereafter. Marshal Khalid Al Hosani took over the role of sweeper of convoy keeping an eye from rear and gave guidance to drivers where needed. Marshal Adiga was everywhere guiding drivers to negotiate obstacles. The track was smooth and easy keeping in view the ANITs level. No stucks and no pop outs but numerous second tries. We ended trip at 1830 BBQ pt Sweihan.

The Newbie Convoy had following drivers:

Nikis, Manytoolsmike, Rafael, aphill44, jlundgren, The Dude (Newbies)

I met up with the newbie convoy at the BBQ point and held the safety brief. Rafael volunteered to be 2nd lead and aphill44 the sweeper. My intent was to have a smooth drive with not too many straight crests, and move direction Nagra, which was quite well accomplished. We did however select a few straight crests for training purpose which all managed well, had a few stucks which also gave some learning opportunities. We took a couple of breaks (thanks Rafael for the coffee with Brasilian strength) on the way to Nagra, where we then turned around and cruised back to the inflation point, which we reached around 6:45 PM.
