Fri 22/07/22 Al Faya Night Drive

As always, we met at 18:00 h, deflated and conducted trip & safety briefing. The wind was blowing not as hard as the week before but temperature was higher.

After warming up I increased the level and pace as it was still daylight and we had only experienced drivers in the convoy. After sunset we adjusted the level accordingly, as in the twilight the contours of the dunes are difficult to see.

We had a lot of fun and quite a number of second tries and also a few stucks. After 2 hours of driving we sat down for a longer break and enjoyed some tea. After the break we made our journey back to the starting point to finish the trip just before 22:00 h.

There wasn’t much wildlife although we spotted some little mice.

Thanks to Vaughan for a reliable second lead and Paolo for sweeping. Special thanks to Tompa, having an eye on us and sorting out issues in the back. Was good to see you after quite a while.
