***** FidoDido (Amr)
For a change we chose Bu Tais for the Friday Night Drive. We met 18:30 h at the Gate. It was the first intermediate drive for Tommiboy and he got in-car support through Thomas who joined as his passenger.
After safety and trip briefing we made our way straight to the West into the nice dunes that run parallel to the Al Ain truck road. We used the remaining daylight to practice some side-sloping. As we only had two intermediate drivers and lots of support I could increase the pace a little. The sand was mostly firm but soft in some patches. We had a number of second tries and one stuck, all handled professionally by the support team.
We had a lot of fun while driving but also a number of breaks in-between to relax and chit chat.
The second part of the drive was somewhat more technical but also fun. We finished the trip a little before 22:00 h at Bu Tais Gate.
Thanks to Glenn who provide an excellent second lead and Roy likewise for his sweeping activities.
It was a pleasure and very reassuring to have Jean and Amr in the back, supporting the trip. Thank you for that.
Thanks for joining and see you soon again in the sand.
