Free Flow Newbie ANIT's convoy

Post by Octopus »

Drivers:
Zak - Fortner (lead)
Jean Luc - Pajero (2nd lead)
Lucas - Pajero
Sameer - FJ
Melissa - JK
Farukh - Y62
Reem and Marshal Sinan keeping a low profile - Ranger
Adam - Prado (Sweep)
Marshal JB - JK (Floating Support)

After a group introduction we split into 3 convoys depending on the skill levels. JB and I took the ANITs and gave them an ANIT briefing on safety and convoy discipline. We set off into the dunes and practiced a few straight crests next to the sabkha to warm up. Fortunately only one recovery was needed and that while the weather was still cool. After that we moved towards the larger dunes and crossed over them to the flatter areas of Al Faya where we could open up and pick up the speed a bit more. We cruised around a bit on the open areas and let our excitement rise. With our hearts starting to pump and the time running out we crossed the big dunes again towards the Sabkha and headed back to the deflation point.

All the ANITS have done very well and plus points to Adam for very good communication throughout.
Thanks alot John for the support.

See you all soon.

It was a good introduction for the newest drivers and a good track as always, Zac.

Thanks a lot to Zak and the whole support team and the participants for making the ANIT trip a safe and fun drive in the desert. Was great experience with the family, learned a lot from the very informative introduction by Zak and learning about safe desert driving from the other team members. Looking forward to many more drives. Keep up the best work and appreciate your commitment.
