Free Flow Newbie – middle convoy

The trip was organized by Marshal Zak and because of so many participants the group was split in three convoys based on skill level. I was leading the middle convoy.

After trip and safety briefing we made our way to the East and entered the dune range. The first part was quite technical with many small crests and narrow dune valleys. All drivers managed very well so that we only had a number of second tries. When we crossed the dune range to get to the more open Southern side we had one car stuck twice on a medium crest. Both recoveries were handled professionally by the sweeper and second lead.

Once on the other side of the dune range we could drive at a faster pace passing by the beautiful sandstone outcrops. Apart from a few more second tries all went well and we arrived at the exit point at about 09:20 h.

My respect to the Newbies who really did well and special thanks to Surya and Floyd for a solid second lead and sweep respectively.
