Arabian Nights Advance 31/12/22

Arabian nights was the area chosen for the last trip in the year 2022. We met in time at the meeting point except one driver who came late.
However, we deflated and after trip & safety briefing immediately moved into the tricky dunes North of the gatch road to warm up. After 20 min the late driver arrived and Ahmad lead us back to the meeting point to pick him up.
Later into the drive both Ahmad and Gerhard took the lead of the convoy for 15 min each and both did an excellent job!
We passed by the Arabian Nights resort and reached almost the gatch road again, from where Rob lead us back deeper into the dunes. The area offers not so much in terms of side cresting but can be still technically challenging and also has relatively soft sand.
The soft sand was responsible for a total of 4 stucks and a number of second tries.
We also had one pop-out to fix following a recovery from a ditch. The wheel in question head a beadgrip rim, which made it very difficult to force the bead back into place.
Luckily we had Rob with his mobile workshop with us. With his help and the sophisticated tools we managed the fun with bravado.
I was leading the convoy again for the remaining 45 minutes and we finished the trip at 16:00 h at the same spot where we started.
It was a very interesting and diverse trip. All drivers performed very well and always played safe. Thanks Rob, Ahmad and Gerhard for taking over a part lead, Ahmad also for sweeping and recovering and Gerhard for a solid second lead.
