The trip started at 10am after detailed briefing and total of 12 cars. We started from Tilal Sweihan entry point heading south towards Sweihan pond. Track was technical and the team did good controlling their cars.
After having a break at the pond, by 11am, we started heading west towards Alfaya. Again track was very technical, with sharp turns and bushy area. However all members were in full focus and were upto the level. The further we went deep, the more obstacles we faced and the level increased gradually. By 12:30 pm we had a long break under a tree and enjoying the breeze.
The next set of dunes were more wide and less bushes which gave us another kind of practice.
We kept driving in a roller coaster style until we decided to extend the trip to 3pm instead of 2pm.
We exited from AlFaya safely after driving 55km in 5 hours.
Nandakumar and Rafael were excellent in their given roles, the rest of the team showed good skills of driving and thanks to Ian and Shajumon for their support
We enjoyed coffee served by Rafael, tea from AbdulAziz and Refreshments from Askar. Thanks gentlemen.
Over all, we started as a Newbie level and ended the trip with a feeling of intermediate level.
All members were extremely focused throughout the 5 hours and built confidence as the time passed.
Thanks all for the lovely day.
Until next time
