WAGAN Intermediate

A nice Intermediate trip to fun the drivers and see if they have the knowledge to pass Advance.
It is important that drivers read the details of the trips before signing up, we had the case of Steven who despite his 17 trips had only three intermediate trips, we had to explain to him that he could not come with us. It is a pity because he moved, but it would have penalized all the other drivers we were going to test.
In the end the team was composed of:
1 - Marshal John (Leader)
2 - Ameen ** Julius (second lead)
5 - Yacine **
6 - Lowell **
7 - Vaughan *** (Sweeper)
Marshals Michael and Thomas as supervisors
The Wagan area is very technical and was a great fun from the start. The first part of the course consisted of very compact medium dunes. The drivers did very well with a few second attempts.
Then we drove along the long fence of a forbidden zone to reach the last row of dunes along Al Qua'a road. The drivers had their first side ridge crossings; some of them real advance level ridges. They all crossed the ridges safely, sometimes a little too fast, but practice makes perfect.
In the end, Julius made an excellent second lead and has a good grasp of the skills needed to pass advance. Yacine and Lowell still need to make a few more intermediate trips to gain more confidence and they will be ready soon. Thanks Vaughan for the excellent sweep, soon ready for the next level as well.
I do not forget Marshals Michael and Thomas for the great work in the back and the valuable advice.
See You soon.
