Dxb Eid Celebrations

After couple of days with the family celebrating Eid and switching off from work, I couldn’t think of any other way to complete the Eid joy other than hitting the dunes.

We announced a trip of 3 different levels. Intermediate and advance had a ver shy participation totaling 6 members including Marshals Micheal and John who came all the way from AUH to drive with us and lead the intermediate and advance as they were combined together in one convoy. Many thanks for stepping in and taking over. Much appreciated.

As for the newbie convoy, which 2 new AD4x4 members; Waqqas and Ali Raza; welcome to the club gents, consisted of 8 drivers in total:
1. Mustafa

3. Rustam
4. Sharpe
5. Chinmai
6. Waqqas
7. Ali Raza
8. Juan

As we had 2 ANITs with us in the trip, we started of nice and slow practicing lots of straight cresting and mild side slopes as we maneuvered our way between the dunes. Soon after, and as the members’ confidence started picking up, we increased the pace a bit and tackled couple of high dunes, which was very exciting and challenging. We had several second tries and 1 recovery which were handled perfectly by Juan, who did an amazing job sweeping with his new jeep JL. Welcome back, glad to see you again.

The members did great today. Looking forward to another beautiful trip with you guys.

Thank you brother Mustafa for choosing the right track with a balance of technical and smooth sections and steadily increasing the pace of the pack to enhance our skills and take a good learning from the drive.

Thanks Mustafa for organizing trip. It was a pleasure seeing you and driving with the Dubai crowd.

Being a hot afternoon, the combined intermediate and advanced team started off slowly and after getting into a flow wound our way first to gravity bowl then to Iftar bowl, all the while trying to avoid any straight cresting. At the top of Iftar bowl we were treated to some wonderful and cooling watermelon courtesy of mihir6066. Thank you.

Once refreshed we continued cruising our way until 6:30 and the end of the trip near the ghost town.

All drivers showed their capabilities in the sand, coping well with the summer conditions and the bushes and bumpy final section finding the exit.

It was certainly an enjoyable afternoon and good fun. I look forward to driving in Dubai again
