John's intermediate BUTAIS

My penultimate trip to BUTAIS, a big convoy to beat the heat, but the temperature was strangely pleasant thanks to the wind.
We didn't want to stop, but we did.
The team consisted of:
- John (leader)
- Gerhard ***(second lead)
- Sarfraz**
- Dinto**
- Vipindas***
- Mokhles***
- Arthur*** (sweeper)
- Marshal Michael***** supervisor
And the experts
- Chris****
- Reji****
- Maher****
- Vaughan****
After a briefing on the right things to do and safety, we set off for the high dunes.
We didn't have to wait 5 minutes before having a pop out, fortunately it wasn't too hot. Half an hour later we were back on the road and starting to do some big slops over the dunes.
It was a quiet start and then another pop out and another half hour of work.
In between we stopped at the trees and enjoyed an expert demonstration of ridge parking before setting off again.
Our two intermediates still need to make progress and learn to manage the vehicle's power properly, as there's too much drift. But that will come in time.
We were in the last half hour and ready to set off again when we had our third pop out. In the end, we finished an hour later than planned, but we had a great time and it wasn't too hot. The experts had a great time at the end of the convoy. It's time for you gentlemen to lead the convoys, we'll be there to support you.
Thank you Gerhard for your good second leader and Arthur for your sweep.
Thank you Michael for being with me for these last moments.
