We met up close to noon on Saturday and prepared our cars for the trip ahead. The weather was breezy and pleasant and the sand was a mixture of very very soft and firmer in some places, especially close to the sabkha's.
To start off, we warmed up close to the tarmac, testing the track, the cars, and everyone's comfort factor. With the testing done and a good feel for the sand we set off.
The route we picked was generally Arada - HD Dune - Dune Buggy Dune - Camping - Saudi Border - Moreeb. For most of the drive we just enjoyed cruising through the beautiful scenery, and into the afternoon on the first day did some more intense driving enjoying the big big climbs and bowls of the area. I think we all had a really good feeling opening up the throttle and pushing the cars a bit.
At dune buggy dune, one of the cars had a battery issue and that delayed us a bit, however we still managed to get to camp just after sunset and settled down for a wonderful bbq and relaxing evening.
In the morning after a beautiful sunrise and slow start enjoying our coffee we set off towards the saudi border. based on everyones mood we had intermediate level play time and started making our way back to moreeb. On the way 2 of our cars started having some mechanical issues so we followed the tracks and picked a newbie route to make it over the dunes to the next sabkha.
All were on the tarmac on time with a good energy and thanking our blessings for such a wonderful weekend.

Was a pleasure to be with such good people in a spectacular place.
Thank you all for joining.

Thanks Zak for organizing and leading this wonderful trip. You picked a wonderful track through spectacular scenery. The evening BBQ was delicious and the fellowship around the fire made a perfect evening. I am looking forward to seeing everyone back in the sand soon.
