Ramadan Iftar Drive (Qarouty) - Newbie Convoy 3

We ended up with seven vehicles on newbie convoy #3.

I would like to thank the organizers for putting this event on and Suhaib Qarouty for sponsoring the Iftar and his dedication to AD4x4 and the entire offroad community.

After safety briefing and establishing convoy order we headed east to practice straight cresting and enjoy the afternoon in the sand. It was slow going at first because of all the convoys in the same area but we took our time and enjoyed several straight crests before reaching the gatch road. After crossing the Gatch and getting to some bigger dunes we had our first but not last stuck vehicle. We practiced straight cresting on multiple sized dunes, some high climbs and some steel descents. We had a few stuck vehicles and got to practice recoveries, and several second tries. All in all we had a good afternoon in perfect weather. We arrived back at starting point for Iftar on time and with all vehicles. Everyone did a good job controlling their vehicles.


BasharS was a solid second lead and Varriernanda was an outstand sweeper.
