National Day camping in LIWA trip report

Post by khaiwi »

What a nice trip.. simply LIWA. The name says it all, the four marshals started early morning from Musaffah, deflated in Al Fathya and drove all the way beyond hameem till the fuel tanks of the jeeps are empty LOL ..... about 95 km off-roading on the soooooft sands.

We dont beleive in lunch breaks   , picked up a nice camping spot and called it a day. A cold night made us all sleep very early LOL

Next day, a freezing morning we all wear whatever we could, had the hot coffee and breakfast and there we go,,,,,, using our Gerry cans we are about half tank fuel, drove about 60km to the road having nice play on the way on the slipfaces and beauty of the desert.

At Hameem petrol station I decided to return to Abu Dhabi while G-Man, JC and Viking still want to have more fun.....they were heading to Moreeb dune on the road.

Thank you all for joining me in this amazing trip, I will upload my pics, please do upload yours too..

If you haven't been to LIWA, you haven't seen the desert yet......Dare you follow me? !!!!

And if you haven't seen Jeeping in Moab, you don't know what you're missing.

Never settle for less....

Thank you Khawi for such a nice trip my back is still sore from all that driving but after all it is LIWA, next time we should have electric underware sooooooooo cold

Yes we decided to head to Moreeb as this was Vikings first time to Liwa so after fueling up off we went to Moreeb where we decide just to have a play in the big dunes for a couple of hours, now Eric you know what is like to come down a 200 ft slip face 8O 8O

we were having fun in the sand till the liwa curse struck at Vikings jeep with loss of power we decide to head out rather than try tackle the big dunes with an under powered car but Liwa was not finish with us just yet   inflating was a big job for GMan's compressors as Vikings compressor broke then after inflating 2 tyres my compressor died as well

Sorry for the late reply but I have been busy
Boss - you rule!!!
This was an amazing trip and I must say that I have heard so much about Liwa but when you called me over that crest, I went over and Wooow - I was in heaven.
And Mr Khaiwi "Schumacher" - The speed you had through the dunes was impressing. I had to drive as fast as I could and still didnt cope with you.
Yes it was cold but YES we had fun and Moreeb was even more impressing and extremely technical. I have never seen anything like that before but I want more :-)
The technical problem is now solved and it was a bolt to the cam sensor that was loose. Just tighten it and we are back in the gam again.
Thanks to Khaiwi, G-Man and JC for two wonderful days and I want to go again.
I got the LIWA-BUG :-)
