Cruise Al Khatim - Friday 16th Jan - Report

21 cars in total today went cruising in the Al Khatim dunes taking advantage of the fresh firm sand and a beautiful winter's day

Well done to everyone on today's trip - I hope you all enjoyed the cresting we did on our return from the play area to the BBQ site. Dodge-Ram, you did really well coming down some of those short, sharp slopes in your 'aircraft carrier' - 'Avalanche' - sorry for your bumper, you can see now why most of us prefer swb 4x4's and a lift kit, and Aseer - sorry you couldn't complete the trip and good luck with getting your car sorted out.
Again, it was good to see everyone willing to have a go and to see your big smiles as your confidence grew - well done all :bravo:
Big thanks to all sweepers and recovery today, especially the special recovery team, great team work - you guys rock :thankyou:

Finally topped the day off with a big BBQ with Xof and his French colleagues who all had the AD4x4 big smiles too

Well Well Well I had to cross al Khatim N>E>W>S all over the place with AnTrAx KerMitt & CooL-ati2ud, Emergency call stuck some where in al Khatim NO problem will find u, exactly after we manage to catch Jax group at ADNOC, T/O rescue mission completed successfully on the way back we decide to play around to meet Both groups halfway lovely dunes tricky track side sloping cresting dune bashing jumping u name it, another mission by phone, we reached the location the recovery team manage to do the job successfully, finishing the job heading towards BBQ site to finish the day with our big family, meeting some new faces old ones with big smiles,

Thanks Jax for the trip and the company....and it was good to see more than 30 cars parked around the bbq site in the evening and people who actually stayed until 8pm though it was pretty breezy out there. See you next time!
