The Newbie upgrade trip 6/3 - Report

I just love being to the desert meeting old and new friends. This time we met at 10 and all were on time so we moved to Al Khazna for deflation. We had to move the deflation point as the original one was blocked by 10 camels having lunch in the middle of our gravelroad. After briefing we started our journey. It was a bit windy but not too bad. We had a few stucks and after a while when recovering Abu Jaguar his front recovery point broke. After inspection I decided it was best to escort him to the main road instead of risking not able to recover the car. Sorry for that but safety always comes first.
We continued and after a while we had two cars at the same time having pop-outs which was a new experience for me. I must say you took care of that very well and we were soon moving again. We continued through some tricky areas and except for a few stucks on crests I think all did great. Most of the times you recovered eachother and only with little instruction from us. On the flat areas we increased the speed as well and I guess that was a new experience for a few of you.
Just before Al Khatim I got in contact with Jax and Mrs Lionbar who decided to join us. I spotted some cars coming our way and after a while Adiga and his group showed up 8O . A very pleasant surprise but still no Jax
After some communication we finally spotted them and they joined up with us on our last leg towards the BBQ where we met Kalemeros group and also Yehias group. A wonderful day ended in a wonderful way.
Thanks to Braveheart for a perfect 2nd lead and for lending me company in the car.
Thanks to Tom for sweeping in the back and supervise most of the recoveries. I feel safe having you in the end of the convoy.
Thanks also to Jax and MrsLionbar for joining us and sharing the funny crests at the end (They were specially chosen for you Pam).
AND of course a BIG BIG thanks to all of you that joined me on the trip. Without you and your smiles, helping hands and encouragement this club would not be what it is. Your appreciation is worth a lot
I just hope you enjoyed the trip as much as I did.
Sorry for not being able to do any upgrades as advertised but I had limited possibility to watch and evaluate your skills. From what I saw you all did very well and in the end of the trip you all acted like you never done anything else than cresting in your life.
Good job and I hope to see you soon again.
