Morning Cruise

Eight early birds met fort a morning cruise.

After deflation and a “short detailed briefing” for our First Timer Edgar with his Ford Explorer we started our cruise floating over the dunes.

It was a nice and relaxing cruise with some “technical learning” stucks. Thank you Jayne for being our “recovery officer” today. Job well done

The “Old Bedu” from the “Desert Inn” just opened and invited us for drinks including Gahua, snacks and a good chat (the call to the desert proofed to be successful). It was comfortable sitting in the shade of a Ghaf Tree with a good light breeze and great company

We continued our cruise heading homeward. Edgar crossed ONE dune tooooooo slow. He lost the number plate and “re-aligned the radiator fan”. Luckily our sweeper Pumukl observed some loose staff under the car. A closer inspection disclosed the incident. Searching/picking the number plate and fixing/repositioning the radiator fan and we were ready to exit the sand. Some last “bumps”, a drive trough the sabkah and we all reached civilisation safe and sound.

A nice trip, good company !

The breeze under the Ghaf tree was comfortable and the number
of small pumpkins on one single plant amazing.
It was 32 degrees when we started off, and 49 when we left the sand.
Edgar I hope you can get the radiator fixed well, and hope the mishap will
not deter you from coming again. At least your number plate was rescued.
You did great for this being the first time.
Nice to meet you again Jayne, Sean and Pumukl, nice to meet you Actros
and co-driver.
My new suspension felt alright, same in the sand but with more confidence
and noticeably better on the rough sections of the gatch road.

Thanks Uristier for a great lead and a nice steady trip through the sand in Sweihan. It was our first time visiting the 'desert Inn' and the delicacies were very good! Nice to meet some new faces and we thoroughly enjoyed the trip.
