AD4x4 and Ramadan

As most of you are aware, Ramadan will be next Wednesday or Thursday.

Ramadan is the fasting and holly month for Muslims, we fast from sunrise to sunset where we are not allowed to eat & drink anything during this period. Smoking is not also allowed.

As per the UAE laws, everybody in the country should respect the month and the feelings of the Muslims, you are not allowed to eat, drink and smoke in the public (Street, car, mall, beach .... etc) during the fasting period, ladies have to wear respectable cloth and all the restaurants will be closed till sunset. So please respect the rules. Also note that bars and night clubs will be closed during the month of Ramadan.

All the new members were asking me about the plan in Ramadan. To tell you, we are AD4x4, we never stop offroading every week end. However, trips will start late at 5.00 p.m. as we will not have the power to drive for a long time while fasting after sunrise, we will set and eat and maybe continue with a night drive.

Night drives will be there as well.

During Ramadan, I am requesting our non-muslim Marshals and Explorers to take the responsibility of arranging trips for members who would like to go offroading.

A big Iftar party will be arranged to all members as well. Date and cost will be announced later.

Happy RAMADAN to everyone

For those who are not familiar with our traditions. Let me say that although we don't eat, drink or smoke, still we enjoy the month like nothing else.
