SAFETY FIRST

Member’s safety during trip is one of the prime concerns of Abu Dhabi 4x4.

To further enhance driver and passenger safety it has been decided that safety helmets must be worn at all times and during all trips. This new rule applies to drivers AND passengers and is effective immediately (01 April 2010).

Please be advised that the trip Marshall is responsible to check adherence to the new rule and no person shall be allowed to join a trip without an appropriate helmet.

This is a good step towards our zero-vision for accidents and I will make sure that all members are using it on out trip tomorrow even though it is the 2nd of April. I assume I have the support from SC to refuse them to join the trip unless they have the helmet.
Will this be implemented into the required equipment list as well?

Not only should we insist on Crash Helmets, I would like to see fireproof overalls as mandatory attire and recaro seats fitted to every members vehicle with at least a 5 point seat belt.

I know that normally the desert is very dry but just in case I think a lifevest would be a good insurance as well.

It is important also to mention that as per regulation an ambulance car has to be
joining in each trip.
