Dear All,
As known to everyone in the club, having a first aid kit is mandatory in our cars while offroading, however, we should add few things to the kit to make it useful to the environment of the lovely desert...here are some tips, and feel free to add more, will try to keep the main post updated to be used as a reference for new members if you think it is a good idea

1. Usual contents of kit are wound dressing, bandages with different sizes, cotton wool, small scissors.

2. alcohol swabs.

3. sterile eye wash solution (5 dhs 5ml bottle*2), this is very important to remove quickly any sand in the eye. if this stays in for few hours, it will cause scratches in the eye followed by infection, while the treatment is very simple.

4. cream for burns, the engine and body of our cars are very hot, simple burns can immediately dealt with to avoid further complications.

5. make sure to update and check your kit periodically to replace expired or missing items.

6. it is always beneficial to have a pack of baby wipes handy as it can clean the skin around the wound, remember our hands are very dirty
, (and can be used for other cleaning purposes like after a BBQ)

Please note that we are not trying to scare you, we do many things as precautionary measures and to be ready when required. The kit all together with the add ons are not more than 20-30 Dhs, but can save you several visits to the doctor later on plus some complications. Stay safe and enjoy the lovely desert.
