You will have one single channel onlyyyyyyy and 500 per year (not sure about the annual fees), they will take ur CB and modify it to allow only one channel.
The CB cannot communicate with any of the handy devices u see here and there, but it can communicate with other simillar radios on that specific channel. he positive thing is the benefit of using the car battery as source of power and loooooong range (based on the type of antenna).
I like to stay legal all times, however, in certain cases, its not feasible hehehehe
thats my 2 fils say on this.

Ali, I know that you are bothering the TRA big time for the last 8 months on the same issue .... and I remember u traced the guy on Chilis that day.
Cheif, as far as I know, the one channel restrictions is only for companies and private offshore business like taxis company but other than those there will be restrictions to a certine range of channels not only one.
Let's wait for Ali's feedback.
For me i'm totally interested on CB. What about other members?

Due to the fact that we drive, small group and rarely we split apart, I don’t think we need CBs at the time being, I know they have longer range and using VHF, but its gunna be very expensive and on top of that we should have license to use it, this license has to be renewed every year.
So I'm with the Walkie Talkies; it’s more practical, easy to use and affordable.

Had a quick chat with one of my friends over there, its not his field, but he has some idea about it. You have to pay for the frequency (usually the frequency is taken by org or clubs like ours) and depending on the frequency and the power you are going to transmit, you will pay.
After getting the frequency licensed to the club, you have to add CBs to it, again you have to pay per device and its annual too like the fequency.
If any more details are required, i can pm the contact of the concerned person to talk to.
