Revised Grading system - UPDATED (SEP 2012)

Dear Members, the Club is growing so much and so fast, and keeping in mind we can always improve, kindly find herebelow the new grading system, and how to collect new stars. GOOD LUCK, have fun and play it safe :ad4x4:

GENERAL RULES:
1. All the following procedures are applicable to official AD4x4 trips only; any other trips not organised and announced according to AD4x4 rules are not valid as a trip to be considered in any upgrade level. Events are not considered as trips.

2. Whenever a VOTING PROCESS (step 2, 3 & 4 of the upgrade process) is required, it should fulfil the corresponding procedure for each level plus the following:
a. Each member should have one independent post for each of his/her upgrades, not to be shared by 2 or more members.
b. The recommending marshal should put the recommendation in the following pattern:
Name:
Car make, color &pic (optional - to simplify identification):
Time in the club (only for explorer and marshal):
Equipments check status:
c. Voting marshals (according to conditions of the vote per each upgrade procedure) should vote in the following pattern:
Yes/No
Date of the qualifying trip attended (if required, can write more dates accordingly)
Explanation (optional)

3. The voting process should not be taken in any way as a personal matter.

4. Any vote which is not according to the approved procedure can be hold by the SC until rectified.

5. The voting process is NOT a discussion; hence any REPLY (that is not a vote) by any marshal could be DELETED by the SC if considered irrelevant

6. Relatives and family members should refrain from the voting process

7. Upon exceptional condition, the required time lapsed in the club for the member and/or the number of trips he/she should attends can be discussed and approved by the SC for early upgrade.


ANIT to Newbie
1. New member to attend an official Absolute Newbie Initiation Trip
2. The organising marshal to post the nick name of the member on the Marshal Forum after the trip.
3. Site administrator will give the 1st star and release the restriction on posting.
4. Organising marshal to announce it in the trip report.  


Newbie to Intermediate

Requirements:
• Minimum of 4 trips excluding ANIT
• Able to follow a trip without too much stuck. Understanding of the risks involved. Respect of our rules and is not a hazard for him and others.
• Complete Equipments (no change)
• 4 positive votes after 48 hours.

The Equipments required if a member wishes to be upgraded:

a. Rated snatch strap (kinetic type)
b. 2 Rated Shackles
c. Shovel
d. Air compressor
e. Base plate for jacking vehicle
f. First aid kit
g. Fire extinguisher
h. Flag pole including flag
i. Communication device



Intermediate to advance

Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 trips in addition to previous.
• Requirements: in addition to the previous, able to follow a trip on normal track. Wishes to learn more and wants more fun.
• GPS
• 6 positive votes and 1 SC/Senior Marshal after 72 hours.


Advanced to Expert

Requirements:
• Reach the maximum level of skills.
• Requirements: manage all type of driving in sand off-road, which means able to go fast, in the highest dune, always in a safe way.
• Does not express interest in being part of the club management or is not identified (yet) as a potential asset for the club management.
• 6 Marshal positive and 2 SC/Senior Marshal after 72 hours.



Advanced to Explorer OR Expert to Explorer

Requirements:
• Minimum of 9 months in the club.
• Requirements: Be dedicated to AD4x4 and the club philosophy, mission & vision. Active club member both on the web site and during trips.
• Has reached the maximum expert level
• Will be proposed by the Senior Marshals only or SC.
• Member will be proposed to be part of the club management, will have their role explained and can accept of refuse.
• Sleeping marshals, Sleeping explorers and members presently at top skills in advance will be promoted immediately to this level when operational. Note that sleeping marshals and sleeping explorers will be able to come back to their management position if they decide to be active again.


Explorer to Marshal

Requirements:
• Minimum of one year in the club. Should have led 6 trips.
• 25 years old minimum
• Requirements: Management skills (leadership, patience, mentoring, teaching skills, communication skills, open-mind, tolerance, maturity...) must have been proven while being Explorer.
• Proposed by the SC.
