the truck is great, but he will be better surved buying a used JK or TJ if this is a desert toy only......cheaper to fix and will not break the bank....
and not the right car for desert driving... but depends if your friend wants to show off at Area 53 at the bottom of the big red, and wants to really off road in Liwa...

it's a great car, i tried it and better than jeep, the only thing ur friend needs to worry about is the size, Chevy never break in the desert like jeeps

The sierra is capable and has a strong engine.
It is a very long wheelbase and has a light back.
It has to be driven "different" than a jeep.
And modding / lifting it is more work/money than a jeep but will look and perform well.
The 5.3 V8 is a GREAT engine.
But I disliked the anti Jeep comments from our fellow Galopper and Tahoe drivers ... LooooL

sorry that you dislike it. It wouldnt come if the coments were in a serious way.
When the question is for a toy, I agree 100% the jeep is the best. If the question is for a car, there is no space for a jeep.
