Hi Chandan
First I would like to say that you did good yesterday. For deflation and inflation I guess most guys in here will recommend ARB expecially for the deflation kit. There are two options. One is the "Staun" deflators which are preadjusted to a certain pressure. You do not have to do anything else that put them on and wait until they pop. The other option is a deflator where you manually do each wheel. Some prefer the Staun and some use the deflator. You can also buy a deflator at carrefour and it is working fine too.
For inflation I would recommend a Bushranger compressor from Ace. They cost around 500-700 AED depending on size and flow (more than 65 l/min recommended). Once again they sell compressors that do the job at Carrefour for 179 AED and I am still using one of those since Ace was out of stock when I needed one. It is working fine and I intend to use it until it breaks and then buy one from Ace

Hi Chandan - yes, Viking has given you great advice there - personally I prefer the Staun deflators, as Viking said 'you set them and leave them'.
Great in this weather as you don't have to stand on the hot sand & in the sun - just go and find some shade to stand in while they get on with the deflating.
You do need to check your tyres with an air gauge after using them - as they can loosen over time and need to be recalibrated.
If you do get the Staun - don't worry about calibrating them before a trip - we will help you do that at the deflation point.
To get to ARB - check this link as there are maps on there showing where they are located in Mussafah:

Well done again for yesterday!

Jax - you just want to be social and that is the main reason why you are using the Staun deflators. You can attach them and then spend the time talking to othersJax wrote:Hi Chandan - yes, Viking has given you great advice there - personally I prefer the Staun deflators, as Viking said 'you set them and leave them'.

Welcome to the Club,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,camelman wrote:Just wanted to Hi to all
I have done a few trips now with AD4x4 with my fellow South African Avan and enjoyed the company. I am working in Abu Dhabi for the next few months and have a Disco 1 V8 and Disco II Td5 waiting back home. I am a qualified 4x4 tour guide and driving instructor and will hopefully be able to share some experiences with the club.
Cheers

The site should be more beginner friendly
As a new member (I registerad one hour ago), I can understand why many new members just go away after registration. The reason is that it is very difficult to find information for beginners.
There should be a menu on the brown line up there that could be like "information for beginners" or "beginners' guide".
I took me one hour of reading tons of text to understand there are trips every two weeks for beginners. I still don't know when next trip is. Perhaps it will take me one more hour to find out when next trip is and another hour to register.
This is really discouraging for beginners. I guess members with experience can't understand that because there are used to the site and know where to find things immediately. It is difficult for them to understand how this site seems complicated for beginners.
By the way, if any of you can tell me when is next trip for a total beginner who knows nothing about desert driving but is eager to learn, I would be very grateful.
Regards,
Vincent
