I would like first to welcome all the new members to AD4x4 Family.

We are a group of people who mainly met online through the club website ... Our aim is to enjoy our weekends (and some times weekdays as well) ..

I have noticed few names who registered in the club and didn't post anything or joined any trip .. I understand that there are some people who joined from outside UAE but this does not mean that you at least introduce your self to us ...

Some new members feel shy and think that we are a group of friends who made a website and we are talking to each other or we are a group of extreme offroad drivers and he cannot join our trips because he will break his car ... This idea is wrong, we welcome any new member to the club and once he joins a trip, he becomes automatically part of the family

Most of the club members were not offroading before joining the club, their 4x4 cars were bought only to have enough space for shopping and when they saw an AD4x4 sticker or a tire cover, decided to check the website and joined us and since then, they didn't stop ... They learned offroading and even became club Marshals and Explorers ... so it is easy .. Just say that you don;t know anything about offroading and we will teach you from A to Z and one day you will pass this information to other new members as well ...

So for all the new members, please don't be shy, be active, join our trips and learn offroading

Well said Iguana!

For anyone out there who has joined and not yet got involved - as Iguana says, "please don't be shy".
I joined the club months ago and only last week plucked up the courage to join a trip - I'm hooked! Out again today on the Absolute Newbies Trip to get some important, basic tips on my car and learn driving skills. The support and immediate friendship offered to me last week by all members - new and old - was 100% sincere, which is a rare thing to find these days! The most experienced drivers go out of their way to help new drivers and offer advice - the best thing is, they remember what it was like to venture out for the first time!
Why am I a member? Easy - I want to do something with my weekends, explore this wonderful country we live in, extend my driving skills so I know how to handle my car in any situation - but more importantly - meet genuine friends who have a similar passion!
You'll find all this and MUCH MORE out in the sands with the club - see you on the next trip?

I couldn,t agree more with Iguana and Jax. I know that when I first joined I was hesitant to turn out for the first time as I had never been off-roading in desert conditions. My main fear was the names of the members. IGUANA, MEGAMOE, BULLDOZER, BLACKCHALLENGE and so on. I had visions of very young muscle bound , tatooed,Hells Angel types
How wrong I was. I was made to feel welcome from the start. The safety aspect is great as well and I have now been to parts of the UAE that I would never have found by myself. Come out and play you will love it.

Check out this forum and add to it.

To add to this, both founders met each other through AD4x4 ... both of us were members of another club and we were meeting each other online till megamoe decided to make his own website and invited me to be a founder with him. First time we met face to face was our first AD4x4 club meeting where we set a goal to have at least 50 members by the end of May 2007

The AD4x4 is like fresh air - you just need it. Since I joined the best club in AD my state of health has made a drastic jum "upwards" and I feel sick if I miss a trip :suicide:

:iagree: Another thing; the club members are mixed of various nationalities, different ages, genders :hawaiidance: :breakdance: , line of business, marital status, car brands & driving skills.

But all are sharing :together: same passion for dissert, playing on sands, off-road driving :driving: & the proud of being AD4x4 club members. :ad4x4:

I agree with how much have said the Administrators of the forum.
Only the my displeasure is that one not to be enough close to the Dubai and all the friends of the forum, for being able to make 4x4 with they.

For the new members of the Club it is right to introduce itself to the others.

I still see shy members who logs in .. watch and then log out ... Come on guys and girls, why are you shy?

introduce yourself to us .. lets get to know each other .. even if you don't have a 4x4 or you don't know anything about offroading .. just ask us and we will always help

Another issue is PM sent to you by our Admin officer (XJ) This information is very important for the club statistics and safety issues .. please answer him with all the required information.

For trip registration, you have to post your mobile number every time while registering in a trip ... behind the scenes, there is always someone who keeps a record of the phone numbers of all the trip members for any emergency ... so please follow the rules

Help needed!!

Hi there

We have recently returned to UAE, bringing back the Jeep we bought here 7 years ago, then drove back to UK!!
Trouble is, we didn't drive back, have not yet got our residency visas, so our poor Jeep is stuck at the port in Dubai waiting for us!!!

Does anyone know a way around getting it through customs, then registered etc, before we get residency? (it could take a couple of months, apparently) We NEED to get off road SOON or we'll go mad!!

Looking forward to meeting everyone soon... we may have to hitch a ride with Jax, best mate!!, until our jeep is free to rock and roll...

From my own experience, nothing can be done before you are granted your residency visa. You have to have this to get your UAE Driving Licence, and vehicle registration. Personally, I don,t know of any way around customs here,. As for your residency visa it took 3 weeks to get mine processed.

Hi Skydiverdriver and welcome to AD4x4 and the UAE ... As Mac said. there is no way to get your car through unless you register it under the name of somebody else that you really trust
