If you notice the atmospheric pressure at the top is showing 850Mb which equates to an altitude of about 5000ft and the rule of thumb is 2 degrees Celcius per 1000ft elevation. That said at 5000ft it would theoretically be 10 degrees celcius colder than at sea level, in a nut shell add 10 degrees to the figures shown on the map and you should be close to the sea level temp we would experience. Those of you with an outside temperature gauge will have probably noticed a significant teperature drop as you drive up mountainous terrain. As an example, a couple of summers back I went to Jebel Akhdar, at ground level 48 Celcius and at the summit 37 celcius, 11 celcius cooler this equates to an altitude of 5500ft which is about right and ties up with my GPS altimiter.
Even so its still going to be pretty cold (by UAE standards) over the next week or so.

Hi Guys,
... this is the advantage when you are German, you have your Winter fure by default...
Honestly, the chart proves again how easy it is in ourdays to put a hoax and all are running after it. This is not the real stuff. Somebody is sitting now somewhere, laughing or earning a lot of money because the Gulf is buying Pullovers & heaters...

sorry !!
The fake e-mail uses a map of temperatures at 5,000 feet above sea level and falsely suggests that they are ground temperatures.
Dubai: Weather forecasters have told people to ignore a fake e-mail warning that says temperatures are set to plunge below freezing in the coming days.
Experts say there is no likelihood of the UAE falling into the grip of sub-zero temperatures.
The fake e-mail uses a map of temperatures at 5,000 feet above sea level and falsely suggests that they are ground temperatures. The e-mail has been distributed widely in the UAE and says people should "get ready to face the coldest season".
In stark red lettering, it warns that for the "next 10 days" temperatures will plummet to minus 2C "as per the Met Copy", referring to the map.
"Take care of your kids and yourself," it adds, before, in capital letters, stating: "WARNING HAS BEEN SOUNDED. INFORM YOUR FRIENDS AND RELATIVES ALL AROUND GULF."
Clive Stevens, duty forecaster at Dubai International Airport, said people should not worry because over the next week the minimum temperature each day is not likely to be lower than 12C, well above freezing. He said over the coming few days temperatures are more likely to rise slightly rather than fall.
"This is a case of misinformation. It's wrong. The person doesn't know what they are doing and they've passed it round.
"We're expecting temperatures to be around normal - there is nothing extraordinary happening," he said.
Sorry guys but it seems its still gonna be cold
