Advice needed! Jeep TJ or JK????

I drive a JK and will tell u how it drives on the sand. Stock, without mods, it does not perform as well as a TJ. After mods, it performs on the same level as a TJ.

Mind u the JK is heavy compared to the TJ. I did many modifications to my JK, and as Viking said, it does leave a big hole in your pocket. But man, my JK now performs same if not better than a TJ.

Now, suppose you opt for the TJ, u will use it for a limited period and when selling it, it will also leave a hole in your pocket

the above information is based on my own experience and feedback from other members

in summery:
TJ: the choice if you have another car for daily use
JK: the choice if you want to use the car for daily driving as well

as for the warranty, you can also find a TJ with the extended warranty package. any 05/06 TJ sold from western motors or trading enterprises has a warranty package from Chrysler in association with gulf warranties as long as the car has never missed a service in the dealer.

ok time for a tj driver to speak up

i have driven both in the desert the tj and the jk and in my personal opinion (No offence guys)
i own a 2005 tj and with little mods.
No jk (unless with a V8) can catch u on the stock engine..
to drive the jk in the desert u have to stay on low gear only... you cant drive on high.
jk's breaks aloot
jk's have alot of manufacturer defects alot stil unknown but the 1ns i know of are
1-bad A/C..it wil only cool while driving
2-4x4 cable
3-clutch wears out really fast
4-the fan makes a tik tik tik noise after along distance drive...
you aalso need to spend big buks for the jk to barley keep up with a stock tj with 31 tires... u owned a tj and u know how much fun it is to drive so if u can live with it on-road definatly go for a 2005-2006 tj

That was the information I was looking for. Very detaild and well devided in categories.
I was looking for opinions and impressions, so this was very helpful!

Right now I believe both Jeeps are very close together and it might depent on the offer I get.
Due to my 40 km daily ( two ways ) traval to the office, I would say 60-40 for the JK.

So, if its gonna be you daily beater to office and back, yeah, I would also say JK rather than TJ. You may also consider Auto gear over Manual. Traffic here has increased a lot during the last years and thus Auto tran would offer more comfort, too.

The JK can be driven on Hi and it goes. However, I think Kermitt is talking about Extreme Advanced Trips, then yes, some of the routes take us to places where u find yourself compelled to use Low gears. I mix both, depending on the terrain. In Liwa, for example, there are places where u simply have to be in Low even if it is a TJ.

if like to keep ur car go for Jk,,have more options for modification encloding engines wich u can reach to 1000HP, Jk is more popular,
the problem is with the minivan engine (Stock engine) and its getting worse after lifting, so eventuallyyou have to go with Hemi engines(5.7,6.1,6.4,7.0,7.2) depends how much u wana spend...any way iam so happy with my JK.(its empty every poket)
