The beginning?

"I always used to go with my older brother to the desert when I was younger and he taught me everything I know.
Now I am good enough to go by myself or with my friends.

"Off-road driving is an entire trip that entails many things. First you must rise early with your supply of food and drinks and follow your marked route.

"We usually go from one city or area to another off road and it's a fun between us - we try to find hard places like high dunes, steep slopes or hard tracks to drive on. We usually know where to go by experience but every time we go we discover new areas, so we mark them down for the next time."

Why off-road driving?

"It's a fun - not at all easy to do but to me, it's a way to get away from everything.

"The desert isn't just sand, it's a beautiful place where you get to be by yourself away from all the traffic and noise. You can spend time away from everyone with people you choose like family and friends.

"The best is going camping when the desert is cold at night under the canopy of stars."

Extra words?

"Anyone can get behind a wheel, go on the road and call him or herself a driver... but that's not it - you can only call yourself a driver if you can ride the dunes!"

Where you can do it

"There are semi-professional clubs where advanced off-road drivers form clubs to help out people and start them off by taking them on trips," says Yousuf "I have my own club and together with the head members I organise trips all the time. We specify the difficulties according to the areas, the dunes, the softness of the sands... and you decide according to your driving."
