Depending on the day I am game. I have a couple of short trips to Thailand coming up: some time this month, around Nov 04 and first week of December. Will be good to do a trip and actually make a dent in the 35 gallon fuel tank.

The other,
Eric

I have never be beyond Ruwais and Jabel Dhana so It going to be interesting.

LOGISTICS
Leave Abu dhabi at around 9:00 am toward Tarif and Turn to Mirfa, stop for Coffee at the corniche.
Drive back to the main Road and head for Ruwais and Jabel Dhana where we can visit the the Dnata Hotel , Visit the beach port where you can take a ferry to Sir Bai yas. Stop for Lunch or we can visit Ruwais Housing complex and have Fridays Prayers there.
Back to the main Road and drive toward Silla where we can explore the beach and find future camping spot.

There are plenty of fuel stations on the way.

Expecting to be back in Abu Dhabi at around 18:00 pm.

Planning dates

23 october or 30 october 2009.

Please selet your preferred dates.

30 Oct clashes with the Formula 1 event.

Do you want to do this on the road completely as what you describe is basically going down E11 all the way to Jebel Dhana

Have done this before and ther is not much of interest to see on this route except for th salt flats and the hotels.

One cant make day trips to Bani Yas island anymore unless one is booked at the hotel for the night.

Also the area around Jebel Dhana is a prtotected zone and thay are not too happy with people going off the main roads.

It would be interesting to go up to the KSA border at Silla maybe as this is something I haven't done yet only been to teh Jebel Dhana area.

Now the other thing is the distance would involve convoy speeds of around 140 KMPH or so to return by the stipulated time. Not sure its advisable for all the cars interested.

Don't mean to sound like a spoilsport but this is just to let you guys know what to expect.

Thanks for your comments but Salts flats for you could be very interesting to others. I used to works there so I may know nice places to see than your salt flats.

So thank you for killing the trip and if no one will join then I have to drive there by my self and refresh memory.

Hey

I didn't want to or try to kill the trip.

I want to go with you on this.

Just was pointing out my observations which I have experienced there.

I hope you are not upset as there was no intention of "killing" your trip
