Starting Times for trips
We have just had a great weekend thro the mountains, the drive today was spectacular and challenging. After talking to a few people on the trip ( remember you promised to support this thread!) is it possible that at the start of a trip that everyone is ready to leave straight away instead of having to go to garage to fill up, buy food, water etc, we lost an hour yesterday, leaving ADNOC at Airport at 11.00am. If everyone is ready it is so much easier. I was up early and all ready for 10am lift off but could have had another hour in bed!! It is not just this trip but several others recently, Top Brass, please assist. Any comments welcome, I have big shoulders. Many thanks

Promis to improve !!!
Hi all,
Mea culpa (thats Latin and means: Its my fault... man am I good ) I know, I came late and than asked for the immediat pit-stop .
I promise to improve and keep my Disco not only always packed but also always filled up and ready to go !
.. but I thought going to ADNOC is also a part of the 1000-year traditions of AD4x4 (.. any reason for a break is a good reason 8) ) and always a welcome social event...

Yes Jo the pitstops are part of the tradition, but then maybe a bit further into the trip when we really need it and before we move out of Adnoc country I fully support Malpatt. We should all be ready to go at the meeting point/time and even if we do a first stop early in the trip that we keep it short.
Coming back is a different story. Then we need lots of stops to keep awake!!!

I support you 100% Mal. I always say in my trips that we will leave and will not wait for any one .. But they keep on calling you in the morning saying "I am on my way wait for me" ... ADNOC stops, I HATE IT ... If we stop, it should be only for fuel and toilets, not for buying refreshements ... we can make it as a rule ... Only 15 Minutes stop and we go

In the trip day, I wake up at 6:00 am and I am ready to go about 8:00.
I can not suggest such early time to start the trip as I know that some
people might be coming from far places.
I agree with Mal about sharp times and with Iguana about ADNOC stops
that is to be for fuel and toilets only but I will add also COFFEE, as it
is essential for me, especially on the wayback.

Yessss, that's my way too, with max 10-15 minutes of waiting margin then "SORRY WE HAVE TO MOVE" only then, members will try harder to be on time keeping in mind they would miss the trip.adiga wrote:Even though I was not with you guys, But I agree with you. WE ALL SHOULD COME ON TIME. ready to go.
In any trip organized by me , I'm sure I'll leave sharp on time.
I know it sounds a bit harsh but, border lines to be clearly drawn for all. Why should an "earlybird" member suffer from waiting an hour while others take it so easy.
Did 650 Off Road trips so far (26- Jun-2022) and counting
