Hallo to all,
same old storry one more time. I need a radio, the set I bought at Dragon Mart one year ago, is giving up. I tried all hint and tips I could find on the forum by searching. Mongoose, Handam street, and so on, every body seems to be out of stock

My question now, has anybody a secure tip where I can get a Radio.

your best bet is probably to order one online from the US.

Wolle, bought mine on the corner of Electra St and 4th, next to the Volvo shop. AED250 for 2 when I was actually looking to spend more. It has lasted so far so no complaints yet. Few more shops on Electra St have them and you just have to check them out.

MLC, as all rafio are illegal in UAE without licence, if you buy on the net and ship here, it will be confiscated by custom.

Well, I have just brought two sets of Motorola talkabout two way radio, they were brought with my family from the states, no body objected from the airport customs. Actually they sell the same model here in Al Ain in a shop called Al Megnas (the hunter) but sure it's double the price from the states.

Try eBay it's your best choice I guess, & you can ship it through Aramex Ship & Shop service, I have an account with them & u are welcome to use it & pay the courier charge, they charge about AED 75 / KG.

I bought mine (a pair of motorolas) in 'True Value' in the basement of Marina Mall, Abu Dhabi. I can't remember the price - 150AED maybe.

Just an update on whats been discussed. I tried my luck in abu dhabi today and here's what I found out.

True value marina mall has been closed for some time now. I tried just about every electrical shop on electra with now luck. I tried hamed center and madinat zayed also with no luck.

If anyone is buying a pair anytime soon and only wants one of them I would be happy to split the cost.
