Road travel to Muscat (query)

Post by RDX »

Dear All

I am planning a road trip to Muscat, during EID. I was told by a colleague, that we cannot get visa at the border any more. Is this true? Does one have to apply for a visa through the consulate in advance?

You can get no problem. Your friend issue is related to Musandan border at Dibba.

Guevara is correct. Should be no issue at Bahraini or hatta. It's just dibba that has some new issues.

As its started...

If we get visa in prior - and go to cross border at Dibba - will it work?

Thanks for ur responses. Just a couple of more queries -

1) if we get a prior visa, does it save the hassle and waiting in the queue at the border check point?
2) how much time does it take to get visa at the embassy in Abu Dhabi

Since we are travelling during EID holidays and with kids, wanted to check the best option and any suggestions on the route to take would also be great

Thanks again :-)

The border post at Mayzed is very quick and its a straight run to Muscat from there good road, but can be boring after the first hour, if you want a good beach look for Sifa through the mountains just south of Muscat.
