Internal beadlocks - group order

I have recently been in contact with Coyote Enterprises in the USA regarding the acquisition of some internal beadlocks. Staun, the Australian company, is no longer in business and it looks like Coyote has taken up their product line of "Staun II internal beadlocks" under their own brand. Here is the link to the their technical page.

Benefits:

1. Beadlocks - They act like a really strong inner tube that inflates separately from your tyre. The resulting internal pressure allows you to deflate to much lower pressure on your tyre while preventing pop outs.

2. Protection - They will protect your rims from damage taken by hard hits to your wheel at low pressure. They kind of act as bump stops for your rims. Although they are not true runflats, they will act as a sort of semi-runflat should you damage your tyre especially at low speed and in the sand.

They come in sizes for rims from 15"-17" with a width from 8"-10" and will work on any rim. The regular MSRP is around USD 820.00 (for 4 tyres) plus shipping. I have spoken to the manufacturer and they informed me that should we be able to put an order of 10 pieces (10 x 4 tyres) together they would discount to USD 499.00 plus shipping. We would also ask them to package in a way to save space and reduce costs.

If anyone is interested in getting in on this please let me know. If we can get interest for the minimum discounted order I would be happy to make the arraignments.

Do they have them in 20"? If so, I would be interested. The Australian company did have them. The instillation is also complicated and you have to drill into the rim that they are installed on. Watch this video:

If you want to know what someone is like; take a good look at how they treat their inferiors, not their equals.

ive been through the link,
its not clear to me if the same valve will be used for inflating or
a new hole have to be drilled for a second valve

Hi Scorpio,

A second hole needs to be drilled to add a second valve. The pressure needs to be able to be controlled separately. When you are deflated on your tyre the inner tube needs to be at a high PSI to apply pressure and create the beadlock. If people are indeed interested maybe we could get a deal going with a tyre shop to do all the installations at a good price.

Have you seen these once?

Personally, I'd prefer them (seems to be maintenance free)?
Any idea where to get them in UAE?

main issues with the Stauns/Coyotes:

1- the main valve stem needs a "channel" or needs to be kept clear of the inflated inner beadlock tube ... to be able to deflate/inflate/adjust main tire pressure ... the previous generations of helpers or band aid constructions to keep the main valve connected to the main cavity were not problem free.

2- balancing: some people ... many years back here ... had a hell of a time to get the Staun I tire wheel combos balanced!

3- the inner tube has to be pumped up to the MAX allowed pressure ... ALWAYS ... reason: if it allows a deflated outer carcass to spin on the wheel ... this spinning will rotate the inner tube as well ... and tear off the (second) valve for the inner tube!!!

4- if you are not running tires with enough sidewall (big enough or wheels too big 18" and bigger) the deflated outer carcass will run on the inner tube ... friction ... heat ... boom!

5- if you deflate outer carcass extremely (lets say 5 psi) you might run ANY tire on the inner tube ... friction ... heat ... boom

issues with true offroad beadlock wheels:
1- HEAVY (!!!) ... WILL rob you precious power to accelerate spontaneously (well there are exceptions like some high buck Method or KMCs ... or the ATX SLAB (poison spyder)) ... but the real surprise is the shipping cost

2- double beadlocks (like e.g. Hutchinsons) ... SUPER HEAVY

but if you rock crawl heavy wheels are not an issue ;)

Although aesthetically questionable ... for a long time I was looking at Interco Birddog wheels ... they are a "bead assisting wheel" with a special inner recess for the outer bead (single sided only) and not a true bead lock ... but if you read the reviews and watch the youtubes you will be surprised ... at the price and weight of normal wheels.

But then ... never ordered ... went down in my priority list ... (wish I had a REAL roll cage, the right seats, 5point harness with bar behind the seats and even much better shocks  )
