Need to borrow for a few days - 4 Rims + Tyres for Wrangler

Hi ALL

i recently joined the forums so that i can start offroading with the club!
and bought a yj wrangler as a desert toy just for that purpose,,,

Well it didn't pass at muroor, and it needs new tyres amongst a list of other things that needs fixing!

so was wondering if someone could lend me stock wrangler rims + tyres for a few days so that i get it passed and registered!

it has 18" rims on at the moment and i'm not intending to use them so don't want to waste money on new tyres for them (plus they'll be no good on the sand,,unless someone says otherwise),,,

so i'm hoping a kind soul can help me out here,, i would like the rims + tyres this weekend and take it for testing on monday ,, and am willing to give some kind of security deposit while they are in my possession.

does anyone wanna buy my set of 18" rims and tyres?

or does anyone know where i could get a cheap set of 15" rims + 30" tyres to suit the yj?
would 16" rims + 30"tyres be a wise choice if using it for the desert?

not planning on a lift kit until later in the yr, so 30" tyres are he biggest i can put on these i think ..

can anyone help pls,,,

asked extreme and supercarz but they had nothing 2nd hand

are used 15" rims + 30 "tyres readily available in mussafah? coz i went to a few shops but they reckoned they didn't have anything 2nd 15" rims,,,

Go to the shops in salam st, Khawaneej or Dubai Auto Balance, cheap nice rims, good quality (not the best quality).

all done and registered this morning!!! finally

now need the rear diff looked at! lol ,, clunking noise when turning,,,

and need to find myself some decent rims and tyres,,,

i would go for 15" rims with 31" A/T tires
as for the noise, it sounds like the dif L/S clutch. parts are cheap but needs serious labor time. we have a good deal with Western motors in abu dhabi. ask for Mr. Mohamed (Service Manager) in the service centre and mention your membership with Ad4x4, and I'm sure he will sort you out with best rate possible.

personally i would think about a complete differential rebuild instead of only replacing the clutches. peace of mind since the cap is coming off the deferential any ways

yeah i'll do atleast one desert trip to see what else breaks on the car, then do a full service on it
have changed all the oils though, which was badly needed!

yeah, i have some big wheels on there now,, 15" with 31x10.5 tyres,
although i think i'll need to lift it a tad,,
where do i get lift shackles from??

Hi Afro

i would not repair that diff. its a dana 35, has small ring and pinon and small axle shaft with a c-clip that often breaks.

instead you can pickup a used dana 44 diff. out of a tj and easily fit it on your yj.

the cost would be a little more, but it will be a huge performance upgrade.

replacing a diff is something even i could do,, but finding a place to do it is the problem in this place! ,, miss not having my own driveway/garage

do all TJ's come with Dana 44 diffs??
