why avoid Dubai ? check out this link, no wranglers in the price range, but there are a few Cherokees if your interested, i personally would recommend a Cherokee.

some of these might be in Dubai and Sharjah

Two months ago I tried to buy a prado from dubai. I deposited money into the seller' bank account, we went to obtain export plates, and they impounded the prado because of a red light violation three months back. We rushed to the bank to get my money back and I went home without a car. I wasted a lot of time with that transaction. If its here in Abu Dhabi I can see the vehicle within 20 minutes and its just easier.

I am looking for a Cherokee or a Wrangler. What about a Pathfinder? Do you like these - highly reliable for sure. I don't know much about their desert abilities.

Pathfinder is also a great car in the desert. but it will not be an AED 18K car for sure. You can check with Mike0967 (the white Pathfinder). I saw a Pathfinder driving in the desert many times and it is really a good offroader.
